Scott M. Fischer Playmats

Our Scott M. Fischer playmats cover seven of his illustrations — Goblin Welder, Serra Angel, Force of Will, Dark Confidant, Liliana, the Last Hope, Sylvan Tutor and Black Lotus — many of them signed by the artist. Two Black Lotus versions are available, one from the 2023 Eternal Weekend Vintage Championship, and the Serra Angel is offered stitched.

Three decades of Magic art

Scott M. Fischer's Magic illustrations first appeared in Mirage (1996) and continue into current sets, most recently Marvel Super Heroes Commander (2026). He has contributed to Secret Lair steadily since 2022, and to Universes Beyond crossovers including Marvel's Spider-Man. Goblin Welder is the one card here he was first to illustrate, in Urza's Legacy (1999); the rest are later art for cards that already existed. His Force of Will followed Terese Nielsen's original Alliances (1996) illustration, and his Serra Angel joined a line of versions going back to Douglas Shuler's 1993 Alpha art.

What's in this collection

Goblin Welder, Sylvan Tutor, Liliana, the Last Hope and Force of Will are signed; Serra Angel is signed and stitched. Of the two Black Lotus playmats, one is signed and the other, from the Eternal Weekend Vintage Championship North America 2023, is stitched. His Black Lotus illustration was made for that championship rather than for a retail Magic set. The Dark Confidant comes from Grand Prix Boston-Worcester 2014.

Condition and photographs

Because many of these are signed pieces, condition matters as much as the artwork. Every listing uses real photographs of the actual playmat, so you can check the surface and the signature before buying.
