Phil Foglio Playmats

Our Phil Foglio playmats span three decades of Magic art, from his Legends and Ice Age-era originals — Mirror Universe, Humility, Presence of the Master — to his modern reillustration of Chaos Warp and Mishra's Factory (Winter). Most are signed, several stitched Limited Editions of 100 to 500 copies, one offered hand-drawn.

From Antiquities to Secret Lair

Phil Foglio's Magic illustrations first appeared in Antiquities (1994) with Mishra's Factory (Winter), a piece co-credited with his wife, Kaja Foglio, and reprinted with joint credit ever since. His work continued through Legends, Fallen Empires, Ice Age, Fifth Edition, Portal and Tempest, then resurfaced decades later with a new illustration for Chaos Warp in Double Masters 2022, alongside Trevor Claxton's original 2011 art. His most recent published appearance is a 2025 Secret Lair Drop. Humility, Mirror Universe and Recycle are Reserved List cards.

What's in this collection

Most playmats here are signed, and several are numbered Limited Editions of 100 to 500 signed copies — including Chaos Warp, Goblin King, Greed, Infernal Darkness, Mirror Universe, Orcish Librarian and Sulfurous Springs, most also stitched. Presence of the Master is available both as a signed piece and as a hand-drawn original.

Condition and photographs

Because most of these are signed, limited and individually numbered pieces, condition and edition number matter as much as the artwork. Every listing uses real photographs of the actual playmat, so you can check the surface, the signature and the edition number before buying.
