Collection: Raoul Vitale Playmats

Our Raoul Vitale playmats center on the Power Nine: all five Moxen, each created for a different Eternal Weekend Vintage Championship between 2014 and 2017, plus three numbered Black Lotus pieces from the 2023 championship, sketched, signed and stitched, in an edition of 20. An Aether Vial from a Star City Games Open completes the set. Most are signed.

The Power Nine, reillustrated for the championship

Raoul Vitale's Magic illustrations first appeared in Duel Decks: Izzet vs. Golgari (2012) and continue into current sets, most recently Marvel Super Heroes Commander (2026). He has contributed to Secret Lair (2023) and to Universes Beyond crossovers including Marvel's Spider-Man. His Mox and Black Lotus illustrations were made for the Eternal Weekend Vintage Championship rather than for a retail Magic set — Dan Frazier's 1993 artwork remains the version printed on the Mox cards themselves, and Christopher Rush's on Black Lotus.

What's in this collection

The five Moxen each come from a different championship: Mox Pearl from 2014, Mox Emerald from 2015, Mox Jet and Mox Sapphire from 2016 — Europe and North America respectively — and Mox Ruby from 2017. All five are signed. The three Black Lotus playmats are numbered Limited Editions out of 20 copies, each sketched, signed and stitched. The Aether Vial, from a Star City Games Open, is the one piece here offered without a signature.

Condition and photographs

Because most of these are signed, and several individually sketched and numbered, condition and edition number matter as much as the artwork. Every listing uses real photographs of the actual playmat, so you can check the surface, the signature and (where relevant) the edition number before buying.
