Nils Hamm Playmats

Our Nils Hamm playmats span thirteen prints across nearly two decades — signed, stitched and numbered Limited Editions of Bitterblossom, Island, Lucid Dreams and Plains alongside Amoeboid Changeling, both Baleful Strix logos, Delver of Secrets and more. Two pieces, "Kin Fables" and "Kinship," are joint work with Seb McKinnon and other artists rather than illustrations of Magic cards.

Nearly two decades in Magic

Nils Hamm's Magic illustrations first appeared in Future Sight (2007) and continue into current sets, most recently Secrets of Strixhaven Commander (2026). He has contributed to Secret Lair since 2020, across nine drops.

Two pieces made with Seb McKinnon

"Kin Fables" and "Kinship" aren't illustrations of Magic cards — they're original collaborative pieces, signed jointly with other artists. "Kin Fables" is credited to Seb McKinnon and Nils Hamm; "Kinship" adds Drew Tucker and Erin Vest. Both also appear in our Seb McKinnon collection, which covers his own Magic illustrations alongside this same original work.

What's in this collection

Several of these are signed, several stitched, and five are numbered Limited Editions: Aberrant Researcher / Perfected Form (100 copies), Bitterblossom (450 copies), Island (350 copies), Lucid Dreams (750 copies) and Plains (389 of 400 copies). The rest of the catalog spans Amoeboid Changeling, both the black-logo and white-logo Baleful Strix, Delver of Secrets, a Grand Prix Rimini 2013 print of Necromancer, and an untitled Grand Prix Chiba 2016 piece.

Condition and photographs

Because several of these are signed, several stitched, and several individually numbered, condition and edition number matter as much as the artwork. Every listing uses real photographs of the actual playmat, so you can check the surface, the signature and the edition number before buying.
