Donato Giancola Playmats

Our Donato Giancola playmats cover his card art — Force of Will from the MagicCon Chicago 2024 Legacy Cup Top 8, Demonic Tutor, Shivan Dragon, Chrome Mox, Memory Jar, Skyswimmer Koi and his Urza's Saga Islands — plus two pieces that aren't card art, The One Ring and "Frog Family." Most are signed and many stitched.

From Mirage to Strixhaven

Donato Giancola's Magic art dates back to Mirage (1996), and his most recent appearance is Secrets of Strixhaven Commander (2026). His illustrations debuted most often in Urza's Saga, Seventh Edition, Tempest and Fifth Edition, and he has contributed to Secret Lair since 2021.

The Urza's Saga Islands

Urza's Saga (1998) printed four Island illustrations, all by Giancola. Three playmats here use his Island art, all signed — one of them the storm scene lit by lightning.

What's in this collection

His Force of Will, illustrated for Dominaria Remastered (2023), appears on a stitched playmat from the Legacy Cup Top 8 at MagicCon Chicago 2024. Demonic Tutor uses his Commander Masters (2023) art and Shivan Dragon his Seventh Edition (2001) version; both are also in our Demonic Tutor and Shivan Dragon collections. Chrome Mox comes from Mirrodin, Memory Jar from Urza's Legacy, and Skyswimmer Koi from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, one of the two from the Neon Dynasty Championship.

"The One Ring" and "Frog Family" aren't Magic card art: the first shows the Ring amid the fires of Mount Doom, the second a family of frogs in a forest. Both are signed and stitched.

Condition and photographs

Because most of these are signed, individually finished pieces, condition matters as much as the artwork. Every listing uses real photographs of the actual playmat, so you can check the surface and the signature before buying.
