Llanowar Elves Playmats

Our Llanowar Elves playmats span three illustrators across thirty years of the card: Anson Maddocks' original 1993 Alpha art, signed by the artist, Chris Rahn's Dominaria version from a Star City Games Open, and three playmats using Hisashi Momose's Foundations artwork, two of them from Pax Unplugged 2024 — including an oversized two-player mat.

Still Standard-legal, thirty years on

Llanowar Elves debuted in Limited Edition Alpha (1993) with art by Anson Maddocks, and it is one of very few cards from that first set still legal in Standard today — Foundations (2024) brought it back into the current format, alongside its long-standing legality in Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Pauper and Commander. Fourteen artists have illustrated it over the years; three of them are represented here. Chris Rahn painted the version that appeared in Dominaria (2018), and Hisashi Momose the one printed in Foundations (2024), the printing that keeps the card in Standard.

What's in this collection

The Maddocks playmat, using the original Alpha art, is signed by the artist. The Chris Rahn version comes from a Star City Games Open. Of the three Momose playmats, one is a standard mat, one is stitched and from Pax Unplugged 2024, and the third is an oversized two-player mat from the same event.
