Juzám Djinn Playmats

Our Juzám Djinn playmats center on Mark Tedin, the only artist ever credited for the card: his original 1993 Arabian Nights art, a stitched Limited Edition of 500, several one-of-a-kind hand-drawn pieces and a hand-painted Super Artist Proof, #1 of 5, set over City of Brass. Bryon Wackwitz's airbrushed piece and Mike Sass's reinterpretation complete it. Many are signed.

One artist, and a single regular printing

Juzám Djinn debuted in Arabian Nights (1993) with art by Mark Tedin, and no other artist has ever illustrated it. As a Reserved List card, Arabian Nights is its only regular printing: the other two versions are an oversized 1996 promo and Masters Edition (2007), a Magic Online-only digital set. It's still legal in Old School, the format built around Magic's first sets, as well as in Legacy, Vintage and Commander.

What's in this collection

Tedin's work here includes his original art as a signed playmat, a signed and stitched Limited Edition of 500, and one-of-a-kind hand-drawn and signed originals — among them "Juzám Djinn Riding Leviathan", which brings in Leviathan, another of his illustrations, from The Dark. "Juzám Djinn on City of Brass" is a stitched Super Artist Proof, hand-painted and shadow-signed by Tedin, #1 of 5; City of Brass is also his, from the same Arabian Nights set.

Bryon Wackwitz's airbrushed and signed "Juzám Djinn & City of Brass" is based on a concept sketch by Tedin, and Mike Sass's version of the card appears on a playmat and on a mouse pad.

Condition and photographs

Because many of these are signed, and several individually hand-drawn, condition matters as much as the artwork. Every listing uses real photographs of the actual playmat, so you can check the surface and the signature before buying.
