Collection: Gen Con Playmats

Our Gen Con playmats cover 19 pieces from 2015 to 2024, most without any special designation, several stitched. Christopher Rush is the most represented artist, with 6 pieces — four of All Hallow's Eve, in small numbered Limited Editions (one signed, two stamped), plus two of Black Lotus, one in foil.

What Gen Con is

Gen Con was established in 1968 as the Lake Geneva Wargames Convention by Gary Gygax, first held in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The convention moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2003, where it has been held since. Our catalog spans 2015 through 2024 — all from its Indianapolis years, including four Christopher Rush pieces explicitly labeled Gen Con Indianapolis 2015.

What's in this collection

Christopher Rush accounts for 6 of the 19 pieces: four feature All Hallow's Eve — one signed, two stamped, one plain — in Limited Editions up to 300 copies; two feature Black Lotus, one in foil. Three pieces are labeled Old School Championship, from 2018, 2022 and 2023. The rest span 2016 through 2024, including a Judge playmat (Hasmed, Angel of Annihilation, 2016) and four from 2024 alone — pieces based on Bloomburrow art, a commemorative Limited Edition, Swords to Plowshares, and a Jace, the Mind Sculptor reinterpretation. Several playmats across the catalog are stitched.

Condition and photographs

Because several of these are signed, stamped or individually numbered pieces, condition and edition number matter as much as the artwork. Every listing uses real photographs of the actual playmat, so you can check the surface and (where relevant) the signature and edition number before buying.
