Collection: Richard Kane Ferguson Playmats

Our Richard Kane Ferguson playmats cover Legends-era illustrations — Dakkon Blackblade, Hazezon Tamar, Nebuchadnezzar, Sol'kanar the Swamp King — alongside recent reprint art for Force of Will, Dragonlord Dromoka and three Tutors, most signed and stitched. The collection also includes two large multi-artist pieces and a playmat-exclusive 2017 reinterpretation of Sol'kanar the Swamp King.

From Legends to today

Richard Kane Ferguson's Magic illustrations first appeared in Legends (1994); his most recent published appearance is Lorwyn Eclipsed (2026). He has contributed to Secret Lair (2022–2023).

Three Tutors from the same set

The three Tutors in this collection — Worldly Tutor, Mystical Tutor and Vampiric Tutor — all debuted with his art in the same set, Dominaria Remastered (2023), replacing art originally by David O'Connor (Worldly and Mystical, both from Mirage) and Gary Leach (Vampiric, from Visions).

What's in this collection

Legends-era originals include Dakkon Blackblade, Hazezon Tamar, Nebuchadnezzar and Sol'kanar the Swamp King, most signed. More recent reprint art covers Force of Will (Dominaria Remastered), Dragonlord Dromoka (Double Masters 2022), Grand Abolisher (Commander Masters) and Toxic Deluge (Double Masters); the latter three signed and stitched, Force of Will stitched only.

Multi-artist pieces and a playmat-exclusive reinterpretation

A 2017 reinterpretation of Sol'kanar the Swamp King was made specifically for this playmat line and isn't tied to any official card printing. Two pieces are large multi-artist collaborations, included here as he is one of the credited artists, not solo work: "Legendary Sketches" and "The Gathering: Reuniting Pioneering Artists of Magic."

Condition and photographs

Because most of these are signed, individually finished pieces, condition matters as much as the artwork. Every listing uses real photographs of the actual playmat, so you can check the surface and the signature before buying.
