Kev Walker Playmats

Our Kev Walker playmats feature his Balance art from the 2004 Judge Gift Cards, as a Judge playmat and a mouse pad, a stitched Wrath of God with the Seventh Edition illustration, and "Kitchen Lynx," a Creature Collection take on his own Kitchen Finks from Shadowmoor.

From Mirage to The Hobbit

Kev Walker's Magic art began in Mirage (1996) and continues into 2026, most recently in The Hobbit Eternal. His illustrations debuted most often in Ravnica: City of Guilds, Odyssey, Planeshift and Mirrodin; he has contributed to Secret Lair since 2022, and his Universes Beyond work includes Marvel Super Heroes and The Hobbit Eternal.

A Balance made for judges

His Balance was created for the Judge Gift Cards program in 2004 — a different illustration from the card's original Alpha art by Mark Poole — and reached a regular set in Eternal Masters (2016).

What's in this collection

The Balance art appears on the Judge playmat, which was distributed to judges in 2012, and on a mouse pad. Wrath of God uses his Seventh Edition (2001) illustration and is stitched. "Kitchen Lynx," from Star City Games' Creature Collection, reimagines his own Kitchen Finks from Shadowmoor as a kitchen full of lynxes.
