From Fate Reforged to Marvel
Chris Rallis began illustrating for Magic in Fate Reforged (2015), and his most recent work is in Marvel Super Heroes (2026). His illustrations debuted most often in Oath of the Gatewatch and Conspiracy: Take the Crown; he has contributed to Secret Lair since 2019, and his Universes Beyond work includes Jurassic World and Marvel Super Heroes.
What's in this collection
Rallis is the original artist of Liliana, Dreadhorde General (War of the Spark, 2019) and also illustrated the card's stained-glass Secret Lair version; the playmat here uses that version, stitched, and was released at Pax West Seattle. Flusterstorm, from MagicFest Barcelona 2019, is signed — his version first appeared as a Magic Online promo before reaching paper in Modern Horizons.
Niv-Mizzet, Guildpact (Murders at Karlov Manor) comes from the Pro Tour at MagicCon Chicago 2024, and Tezzeret's Touch (Aether Revolt) from Grand Prix Shizuoka 2017. The Marvel Super Heroes playmat, stitched, carries his key art for the crossover.
