Birds of Paradise — Marcelo Vignali • Worlds Tokyo 2005 MTG Playmat
This historic playmat features Birds of Paradise from Ravnica: City of Guilds, illustrated by Marcelo Vignali and produced for Magic: The Gathering World Championship Tokyo 2005.
The soaring bird, rendered in soft pastel tones against monumental architecture, represents one of the most iconic mana creatures in Magic’s history.
Unlike modern playmats, this piece is made from an older-generation cloth material, typical of early 2000s event playmats.
It does not feature the neoprene rubber backing used today, giving it a lighter, more fabric-like feel that clearly distinguishes it as a true vintage item.
Condition note: there is a small visible stain in the top-left corner of the playmat. This cosmetic flaw is shown in the photo and has been fully taken into account in the description and pricing. It does not affect usability but should be noted by collectors seeking pristine examples.
